1. A method, comprising:
receiving, by software-defined networking equipment comprising a processor, network repository function data representative of network functions;
in response to receiving the network repository function data, storing, by the software-defined networking equipment, the network repository function data in a data store to enable a discovery function associated with the network functions;
registering, by the software-defined networking equipment, for a status update for the network functions;
in response to monitoring for and not receiving the status update, sending, by the software-defined networking equipment to a server, request data representative of a request for a configuration associated with the network functions;
in response to sending the request data, receiving, by the software-defined networking equipment from the server, notification data representative of a notification that a configuration of the network repository function data has been modified, wherein the server performs status checks of worker node devices according to a policy set by a scheduler of the server, wherein the policy is based on a threshold amount of activity of each of the worker node devices for a defined period of time; and
in response to receiving the notification data, determining, by the software-defined networking equipment, a service path associated with the network functions.
