1. A method for mitigating an effect of interference in a receiver, comprising:
receiving, by the receiver, a signal having a first interfering signal component;
generating, by the receiver, a replicated signal of interest using known parameters;
iteratively performing the following first stage operations by the receiver to obtain a plurality of first residual errors for the first interfering signal component:
modifying an amplitude of the replicated signal of interest;
obtaining a first reference signal by removing the replicated signal of interest with the modified amplitude from the received signal;
analyzing the first reference signal to obtain an estimated carrier frequency and an estimated symbol rate for the first interfering signal component;
generating a remaining signal by removing, from the first reference signal, a signal having the estimated carrier frequency and the estimated symbol rate; and
determining a residual error of the remaining signal;
setting refined parameters for the first interfering signal component equal to the estimated carrier frequency and the estimated symbol rate that are associated with a lowest one of the plurality of first residual errors.
