1. A method of dynamically routing packets to a destination node, the method comprising:
detecting, at a network node, a status of a plurality of links to the destination node across a plurality of communications modalities, wherein
the network node is one of a plurality of network nodes via which the packets are routed from a source node and the destination node using one or more of the plurality of communications modalities, and
each of plurality of communications modalities represent a different communication protocol enabling the source node to communicate with the destination node;
determining, at the network node, a set of links to use for routing packets to the destination node based on the detected statuses, wherein each of the set of links operate according to one of the plurality of communications modalities; and
sending, by the network node, the packets to the destination node via the determined set of links.
