1. A method comprising:
detecting a trigger by determining that a tool, operable by a tractor to dispense a product, will reach a site designated for dispensing the product in an amount of time corresponding to a mechanical delay, the mechanical delay determined based on a time required to move one or more physical components of the tool from an unready state to a ready state by referencing a data structure that maps tools to their corresponding mechanical delay times; and
responsive to detecting the trigger, commanding the tool to dispense the product without determining whether the tool is in the ready state, wherein commanding the tool to dispense the product is performed using one or more processors and comprises beginning a dispense operation, wherein the product is dispensed after the amount of time corresponding to the mechanical delay passes from the beginning of the dispense operation.
