1. A part comprising a substrate of ceramic matrix composite material, the substrate comprising silicon, the part further comprising an environmental barrier formed on at least one surface of the substrate,
wherein the environmental barrier comprises at least one compound selected from Yb2-2γGdSiO5 and Yb2-2γGdSi2O7, where γ is between 0.05 and 0.15,
and wherein the environmental barrier further comprises alumina Al2O3, a molar alumina content being between 5% and 15% relative to a total environmental barrier composition.
