1. A method comprising:
using a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) format having a first duration in an uplink transmission for a service from a user equipment (UE) to a network device in a wireless communication network; and
switching from the first PUCCH format to a second PUCCH format that has a second and different duration for the service in response to one or more events, the one or more events comprising that one or more radio channel quality measurements crossing one or more corresponding threshold values, wherein the UE is to indicate to the network device the second PUCCH format responsive to the switching from the first PUCCH format to the second PUCCH format.
