20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code for wireless communication at a first access node in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network, the code comprising instructions executable by a processor to:
transmit, to a node function at another access node in the IAB network, a request for backhaul resources for a period of time;
receive, by the first access node, a plurality of resources that are pre-allocated among a plurality of node functions in the IAB network, wherein the first access node comprises a first node function and a second node function different from the first node function; and
receive, at the first node function of the first access node, an availability indication of one or more available resources for backhaul communication from the plurality of resources, wherein the one or more available resources are available for the requested period of time after being pre-allocated, for backhaul communication, to an additional node function associated with a second access node associated with the IAB network, wherein the plurality of node functions includes the first node function, the second node function, and the additional node function.
