1. A modular earpiece adaptor comprising:
an earpiece adaptor body having an upper surface and a lower surface, wherein at least a portion of the earpiece adaptor body includes a groove extending at least partially around a periphery of the at least the portion of the earpiece adaptor body; and
one or more apertures within the earpiece adaptor body extending from the upper surface to the lower surface;
wherein the periphery of at least the portion of the earpiece adaptor body is configured to be received within a housing opening of an earpiece housing orienting the lower surface of the earpiece adaptor body into an interior of the earpiece housing toward a tip portion positioned on an opposite end of the earpiece housing relative to the housing opening and that extends at least partially into an ear canal; and
wherein the groove extending at least partially around the periphery of the at least a portion of the earpiece adaptor body is configured to engage with a protruding lip extending at least partially around an interior rim of the housing opening of the earpiece housing.
 
7. A modular earpiece adaptor comprising:
an earpiece adaptor body configured to removably couple one or more earpiece inserts to the earpiece adaptor body, wherein at least a portion of the earpiece adaptor body includes a groove extending at least partially around a periphery of the at least the portion of the earpiece adaptor body;
wherein the periphery of the at least the portion of the earpiece adaptor body is configured to be received within a housing opening of an earpiece housing orienting a lower surface of the earpiece adaptor body into an interior of the earpiece housing toward a tip portion positioned on an opposite end of the earpiece housing relative to the housing opening and that extends at least partially into an ear canal, and
wherein the groove extending at least partially around the periphery of the at least a portion of the earpiece adaptor body is configured to engage with a protruding lip extending at least partially around an interior rim of the housing opening of the earpiece housing.
 
9. A modular earpiece comprising:
an earpiece housing including a housing opening and a tip portion positioned on an opposite end of the earpiece housing relative to the housing opening and that extends at least partially into an ear canal, wherein at least a portion of an earpiece adaptor body includes a groove extending at least partially around a periphery of the at least the portion of the earpiece adaptor body; and
a modular earpiece adaptor configured to be at least partially received within the housing opening of the earpiece housing, wherein the modular earpiece adaptor includes:
the earpiece adaptor body having an upper surface and a lower surface;
a first aperture within the earpiece adaptor body extending from the upper surface to the lower surface and configured to removably couple one or more of a communication insert and an audio insert to the earpiece adaptor body; and
a second aperture within the earpiece adaptor body extending from the upper surface to the lower surface and configured to removably couple a filter insert to the earpiece adaptor body,
wherein the earpiece housing and the modular earpiece adaptor each include corresponding connectors configured to removably couple the modular earpiece adaptor within the housing opening of the earpiece housing; and
wherein the groove extending at least partially around the periphery of the at least the portion of the earpiece adaptor body is configured to engage with a protruding lip extending at least partially around an interior rim of the housing opening of the earpiece housing.
