1. A method comprising:
initiating a pool session based on a request from a device, the pool session being an active social network pool session that allows continuous generation of media data items up to a pool limit;
generating one or more media data items during the pool session;
detecting that a quantity of the one or more media data items in the pool session meets the pool limit; and
in response to detecting that the quantity of the one or more media data items meets the pool limit:
terminating the pool session, and
causing display of the one or more media data items in a user interface of the device for editing the one or more media data items.
