1. An apparatus, comprising:
a memory configured to store instructions; and
one or more processors coupled to the memory and configured to:
establish wireless local area network (WLAN) connections between the apparatus and a plurality of client devices;
receive, through the WLAN connections and from the plurality of client devices, a plurality of messages, wherein each message of the plurality of messages indicates a spectral mask capability of one of the plurality of client devices;
calculate, based on the spectral mask capability of each of the plurality of client devices, a channel assignment scheme for allocating bandwidth or communication channels within a WLAN of the apparatus and the plurality of client devices to the plurality of client devices; and
transmit, through the WLAN connections and to each of the plurality of client devices, instructions to set a transmission frequency based on the channel assignment scheme.
