1. A method of wireless communication scheduling implemented by a network node, the method comprising:
calculating a corresponding layer limit for each of a plurality of scheduling intervals of a cell served to a plurality of user equipment (UEs) via multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO), the calculating comprising determining, for each of one or more of the scheduling intervals previous to a given scheduling interval, a corresponding hardware utilization of the network node during the previous scheduling interval; and
scheduling time-frequency resource utilization such that, for each of the scheduling intervals, no time-frequency resource is scheduled for use by more layers directed to the plurality of UEs than the corresponding layer limit for the scheduling interval.
