1. A hybrid cathode for a battery, the hybrid cathode comprising:
an electrode;
a cathode material, electrically coupled to the electrode, the cathode material comprising:
a first concentration X wt % of an intercalation compound, wherein X is in a range of between 10 to 75;
a second concentration Y wt % of sulfur (S), wherein Y is in a range of between 10 to 75; and
a third concentration Z wt % of carbon (C); and
a liquid electrolyte, disposed, at least in part, in the cathode material, to transport at least one of lithium ions or sulfur ions,
wherein:
Y is greater than X;
Z is greater than or equal to 5 and less than or equal to 20;
the sum of X, Y, and Z equals 100;
the intercalation compound contributes to a capacity of the battery within a voltage window of 1.7 Volts to 2.8 Volts; and
the hybrid cathode has a liquid electrolyte-to-active material ratio less than approximately 3 μL·mg−1.
