1. A system for setting an operating mode of a tool, the system comprising:
one or more memories, the one or more memories configured to store, for each of a plurality of locations, an indication of a respective operating mode;
a first mechanism configured to estimate a location of the tool;
a second mechanism configured to determine, in dependence on the location of the tool estimated by the first mechanism, a location of a toolpiece carried by the tool, wherein the second mechanism comprises at least one processor configured to execute software code stored in the one or more memories; and
a controller configured to set an operating mode of the tool in dependence on the location of the toolpiece determined by the second mechanism, the operating mode of the tool corresponding to one of the plurality of operating mode indications stored in the one or more memories.
