1. An overprovisioned microprocessor comprising:
at least one first physical compute resource within a core of the overprovisioned microprocessor in a dark power state in a first operating condition;
at least one second physical compute resource within the core in an active power state;
a dynamic configuration logic capable of:
detecting an activation-warranting operating condition;
undarkening the at least one first physical compute resource responsive to detecting the activation-warranting operating condition;
detecting a configuration-warranting operating condition; and
dynamically configuring the overprovisioned microprocessor to use the at least one first physical compute resource responsive to detecting the configuration-warranting operating condition.
