1. A method, comprising:
displaying, by a terminal, a first graphical user interface (GUI), wherein the first GUI comprises a first application window and a second application window, and the first GUI comprises a first icon of a first application and a second icon of a second application;
receiving, by the terminal, an input operation performed on the first application window, wherein the input operation instructs to display a soft keyboard, a display location of the soft keyboard to be displayed partially or completely overlaps a first display location of the first application window in the first GUI and a second display location of the second application window in the first GUI; and
displaying, by the terminal, a second GUI in response to the input operation, wherein the second GUI includes a first area and a second area, and wherein the second GUI comprises the soft keyboard at a fixed display location in the second area, and wherein the first area in the second GUI other than the second area in which the soft keyboard is displayed comprises the first application window and the second application window,
wherein the first application window and the second application window are completely displayed in the second GUI such that the first application window, the second application window, and the soft keyboard do not overlap one another in the second GUI,
wherein a second aspect ratio of the first application window in the second GUI is the same as a first aspect ratio of the first application window in the first GUI, and a second orientation of the first application window in the second GUI is the same as a first orientation of the first application window in the first GUI,
wherein a third display location of the first application window in the second GUI is different from the first display location of the first application window in the first GUI, and
wherein a fourth display location of the second application window in the second GUI is different from the second display location of the second application window in the first GUI.
