1. An electronic display assembly comprising:
a housing;
a cover panel provided at a front portion of said housing;
an electronic display layer located within said housing and rearward of said cover panel;
a first airflow pathway, at least a portion of which is located rearward of said electronic display layer;
an access panel located rearward of at least said portion of said first airflow pathway and comprising a second airflow pathway, at least a portion of which extends along and adjacent to a rear surface of the access panel;
one or more intakes in fluid communication with said first and second airflow pathways;
one or more in fluid communication with said first and second airflow pathways;
one or more fans which, when activated, cause a first flow of ambient air through said first airflow pathway primarily in a first direction and a second flow of the ambient air through the second airflow pathway primarily in the first direction;
a closed loop pathway configured to accommodate circulating gas; and
at least one other fan located along said closed loop pathway and configured to force circulating gas through said closed loop pathway when activated.
 
11. An electronic display assembly comprising:
a housing;
a cover panel provided at a front portion of said housing;
an electronic display layer located within said housing and rearward of said cover panel;
a first airflow pathway, at least a portion of which is located rearward of said electronic display layer;
an access panel forming a rear portion of said housing and comprising at least a portion of a second airflow pathway which extends along and adjacent to a rear surface of the access panel, wherein said access panel is moveable relative to said housing;
a first intake located at said access panel and in dedicated fluid communication with said first airflow pathway;
a second intake located at said access panel and in dedicated fluid communication with said second airflow pathway;
a first exhaust located at said access panel and in dedicated fluid communication with said first airflow pathway;
a second exhaust located at said access panel and in dedicated fluid communication with said second airflow pathway;
a first fan located fluidly interior to said first intake and in dedicated fluid communication with said first airflow pathway; and
a second fan located fluidly interior to said second intake and in dedicated fluid communication with said second airflow pathway;
wherein activation of said first fan and said second fan is configured to ingest a first flow of ambient air through the first intake and direct said first flow through at least part of said first airflow pathway primarily in a first direction and ingest a second flow of the ambient air through the second intake and direct said second flow through at least part of said second airflow pathway primarily in the first direction.
 
15. A method for cooling an electronic display assembly comprising:
mounting the electronic display assembly at an elevated position, said electronic display assembly comprising a housing, an intake area, an exhaust area, a cover panel provided at a front portion of said housing, an electronic display layer located within said housing and rearward of said cover panel, and an access panel forming a rear portion of said housing;
ingesting ambient air through the intake area at said housing;
passing said ingested ambient air through a first airflow pathway of said electronic display assembly, at least a portion of which is located rearward of said electronic display layer, and a second airflow pathway of said electronic display assembly, at least a portion of which extends along and adjacent to a rear surface of the access panel such that at least said portion of the second airflow pathway is spaced apart from, and located rearward of, at least said portion of the first airflow pathway, wherein the ingested ambient air primarily travels in a same direction through said first airflow pathway and said second airflow pathway;
exhausting said previously ingested ambient air from said first airflow pathway and said second airflow pathway by way of the exhaust area;
circulating gas through a closed loop airflow pathway extending within said electronic display assembly; and
displaying various digital advertising images at said electronic display layer.
