1. An article comprising:
a component forming at least a portion of the article, the component having a first surface; and
an optical element having a first side and a second side opposing the first side, wherein the first side of the optical element, the second side of the optical element, or both impart a structural color to the component;
wherein the first side of the optical element or the second side of the optical element is disposed on the first surface of the component;
wherein the structural color imparted is a multi-hued structural color as viewed by an observer having 20/20 visual acuity and normal color vision from a distance of about 1 meter from the article, and the optical element includes at least one optical layer, wherein at least one of the layers of the optical element has a thickness that is about one fourth of a wavelength of visible light to be reflected by the optical element to impart the multi-hued structural color.
