1. A steam injected turbine engine comprising:
a core engine including a compressor section where an inlet airflow is compressed and communicated to a combustor section where the inlet airflow is mixed with fuel and ignited to generate a first gas flow that is expanded through a turbine section, the core engine having a core flow that extends from an inlet that receives the inlet airflow and through the compressor section, the combustor section and the turbine section;
a burner where a portion of the inlet flow is mixed with fuel and ignited to generate additional thermal energy in response to a determination of a predefined operating condition that utilizes additional thermal energy;
an evaporator where the thermal energy from at least the first gas flow is used to transform water into a first steam flow, wherein the first steam flow is injected into the core flow through the core engine; and
a condenser in communication with a cooling flow where water is extracted from first gas flow and communicated to the evaporator for transformation into the first steam flow.
