1. A shovel comprising:
a lower traveling body;
an upper traveling body turnably mounted on the lower traveling body;
a hydraulic actuator;
an object detector configured to detect an object within a predetermined area around the shovel; and
a hardware processor configured to determine whether the object detector has detected the object, during a standby state of the shovel, the standby state including a state in which a power source is in operation and an operating apparatus configured to operate the hydraulic actuator is in a neutral state.
