1. An adjustable socket system for receiving a residual limb, the adjustable socket system having proximal and distal ends and an axis extending between the proximal and distal ends, the adjustable socket system having anterior and posterior sides corresponding to posterior and anterior sides of the residual limb, the adjustable socket system comprising:
a strut device arranged to be mounted along an anterior side of a residual limb and a sagittal plane of a leg, the strut device including a strut base at the distal end of the adjustable socket system, the strut base defining at least in part a limb seat adapted to receive and support a distal end portion of a residual limb; the strut base further including a sleeve at an upper part thereof, the strut device being rigid to resist bending and deflection by the residual limb;
an adjustable strut slidably engaging the sleeve and lockable at a plurality of predefined height settings;
an anterior clamp element secured to the adjustable strut at the anterior side of the adjustable socket system, the anterior clamp element including at least one anterior wing extending laterally from the anterior clamp element;
a posterior clamp element located opposite the anterior clamp element at the posterior side of the adjustable socket system, the posterior clamp element including at least one posterior wing extending laterally from the posterior clamp element;
a strap system extending to and between the at least one anterior wing and the at least one posterior wing to selectively adjust a circumference defined between the at least one anterior wing and the at least one posterior wing;
wherein a sole connection by which the posterior clamp element secures to the anterior clamp element consists of the strap system;
wherein a sole connection by which the posterior clamp element secures to the strut device consists of the strap system.
