1. A catheter assembly comprising:
a core wire at least partially disposed within a lumen of an elongate body including a proximal terminus and a distal terminus of the core wire;
a sonic connector at the proximal terminus of the core wire, the sonic connector configured to connect to an ultrasound transducer; and
a tip member at the distal terminus of the core wire, the tip member directly attached to the core wire, the tip member having a cavitation-induced exposed surface,
wherein the cavitation-induced exposed surface is configured to introduce a plurality of nanocavities upon exposure of the tip member to a vibrational energy received from the core wire via the sonic connector.
