1. An optical housing for a distal end of an endoscope shaft comprising:
a molded member configured to partially enclose a camera sensor and a light source, to fix a non-zero angular position of the camera sensor and light source with respect to a longitudinal axis of a distal end of the endoscope shaft, and to secure the camera sensor and light source within a distal end of a cylindrical sheath comprising the endoscope shaft;
the molded member having an insertion portion that comprises an outer diameter that is disposed within at least a portion of an internal surface of the endoscope shaft and locates the insertion portion of molded member within the distal end of the endoscope shaft;
wherein the molded member comprises a plurality of open channels on an external surface of the molded member that when covered by the internal surface of the endoscope shaft define one or more liquid flowpaths between a fluid channel in the endoscope shaft and one or more apertures at the distal end of the endoscope shaft.
