1. A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
assessing a first beam quality of a first beam for communications with a network entity and a second beam quality of a second beam for communications with the network entity;
adjusting a value of power hysteresis by:
decreasing the value of power hysteresis when the UE is stationary or the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the first beam is greater than a threshold value; and
increasing the value of power hysteresis when the UE is non-stationary or the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the first beam is less than a threshold value; and
switching from the first beam to the second beam if a difference between the second beam quality and the first beam quality is greater than the adjusted value of power hysteresis.
