1. A method for adjusting an image including a first range underlying content layer and a second range overlay, wherein the second range is less than the first range the method comprising:
determining that the image includes both the first range underlying content layer and the second range overlay;
identifying pixels for which overlap exists between the first range underlying content layer and the second range overlay;
determining one or more adjustments to make to pixels of either or both of the first range underlying content layer and the second range overlay; and
applying the one or more adjustments to the pixels.
