A composite storage tank for gaseous hydrogen, the tank comprising a composite wall enclosing a gas storage volume and a metallic fibre which is susceptible to embrittlement by hydrogen incorporated within the composite wall, wherein ends of the metallic fibre extend through the exterior surface of the composite wall.
