1. A wearable device apparatus, comprising:
a power supply;
one or more processors powered by the power supply;
a wireless transmitter powered by the power supply;
a plurality of sensors powered by the power supply; and
a memory storing program instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to at least:
collect, with at least one sensor of the plurality of sensors, sensor data corresponding to a user wearing the wearable device apparatus;
determine, based at least in part on at least a first portion of the sensor data, that the user is in a first state;
while the user is in the first state:
store, in a memory of the wearable device apparatus, a second portion of the sensor data that is collected during a first interval duration;
subsequent to storage of the second portion of the sensor data:
process, with the one or more processors, the second portion of the sensor data to produce first processed data; and
transmit, via a first wireless connection, the first processed data from the wearable device apparatus;
determine, based at least in part on at least a third portion of the sensor data that is collected subsequent to the second portion of the sensor data, that the user wearing the wearable device apparatus has transitioned from the first state to a second state that is different than the first state;
in response to determination that the user has transitioned to the second state:
terminate the first wireless connection;
transition the one or more processors to a low power state;
transition the wireless transmitter to the low power state;
continue to collect, with at least one sensor of the plurality of sensors, the sensor data; and
store a fourth portion of the sensor data in the memory, wherein the fourth portion of the sensor data is collected during a second interval duration that is longer than the first interval duration;
subsequent to storage of the fourth portion of the sensor data:
transition the one or more processors from the low power state to an active state;
process, with the one or more processors, the fourth portion of the sensor data to produce second processed data;
transition the wireless transmitter from the low power state to the active state; and
transmit, via a second wireless connection, the second processed data from the wearable device apparatus.
