1. A method for forward error correction, comprising:
detecting a trigger event;
grouping a set of base data into a plurality of base data groups based on the detected trigger event and a set of contextual data indicating at least one transmission-affecting circumstance;
generating forward error correction (FEC) data including a plurality of FEC data groups based on the plurality of base data groups, wherein each FEC data group corresponds to a respective base data group of the plurality of base data groups, wherein each FEC data group is redundant with at least a portion of the corresponding base data group; and
transmitting the plurality of FEC data groups.
