1. An apparatus comprising:
an interface configured to receive pixel data corresponding to an exterior of a vehicle;
a sensor configured to detect an obstacle at a pre-determined distance from said vehicle; and
a processor configured to (i) process said pixel data arranged as video frames, (ii) perform computer vision operations on said video frames to detect objects in said video frames, (iii) determine whether one of said objects detected is a vehicle attachment, (iv) determine an amount of distance that said vehicle attachment extends a size of said vehicle and (v) generate a recalibrated value for said pre-determined distance from said vehicle used by said sensor for detecting said obstacle in response to said amount of said distance, wherein
(i) a notification is generated in response to said sensor detecting said obstacle within said pre-determined distance, and
(ii) said pre-determined distance is (a) a default value based on said size of said vehicle when said vehicle attachment is not present and (b) said recalibrated value when said vehicle attachment is detected.
