1. An apparatus comprising:
memory to store instructions; and
one or more processors, coupled with the memory, operable to execute the instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to:
authenticate a user associated with a computing device;
receive a request for a temporary payment instrument;
determine a type of the temporary payment instrument to provide to the user based on a search and analysis of prior transaction records for one or more merchants within a defined distance of the computing device; and
provision the temporary payment instrument of the determined type to the computing device.
