1. A computer-implemented method comprising:
accessing, by a computer system having at least one hardware processor, corresponding sensor data for each one of a plurality of requests for a transportation service associated with a place, the corresponding sensor data comprising a plurality of satellite signals indicating a path of a mobile device of a provider or a requester of the transportation service corresponding to each one of the plurality of requests, the path having been walked by the provider or the requester before entering or after exiting a vehicle used by the provider to provide the transportation service;
for each one of the plurality of requests, determining, by the computer system, a transition geographic location for the request based on corresponding signal strengths of the plurality of satellite signals indicating a corresponding path and a satellite signal strength threshold, the satellite signal strength threshold being configured to represent a point of transition between an indoor location and an outdoor location;
determining, by the computer system, at least one transition geographic location for the place based on the transition geographic locations for the plurality of requests; and
performing, by the computer system, a computer operation using the at least one transition geographic location for the place.
