1. A method of making a thermo-responsive hydrogel comprising the steps of:
providing a first solution of a cyclodextrin and chitosan in an aqueous base;
cooling the first solution to less than 10° C.;
adding a poloxamer to the first solution and mixing at a temperature of less than 10° C.;
storing the solution at a temperature of less than 10° C. for at least four hours to allow the solution to hydrate;
adding genipin to the hydrated solution with stirring for a period of at least four hours to form the thermo-responsive hydrogel; and
optionally, lyophilising the thermo-responsive hydrogel,
in which the method does not include a step of curing the hydrogel.
