1. A system, comprising:
a first optical source coupled to at least one optical medium that generates a first optical signal comprising light in a first frequency range that varies in response to first data;
a second optical source coupled to the at least one optical medium that generates light of a second frequency range that does not vary in response to the first data, wherein the first and second frequency ranges do not overlap;
at least one optical modulator that optically modulates the first optical signal and the light of the second frequency range according to compare data to generate an optical match signal that indicates matches between the compare data and the first data; and
at least one photodetector that generates an electrical match signal in response to the optical match signal; wherein
the optical match signal has
at least first values when the first data matches the compare data, and
at least second values when the first data does not match the compare data.
