receiving, by a processing device, cluster configuration data identifying a plurality of nodes of a cluster;

receiving a workload description characterizing plurality of respective workloads of the plurality of nodes;

analyzing the workload description to identify, among the plurality of nodes, a plurality of nodes of a first type and a plurality of nodes of a second type;

configuring, on at least a subset of the plurality of nodes of the second type, respective node proxies, wherein each node proxy is configured to forward, over a second network, to a chosen node of the first type, incoming requests received over a first network; and

configuring an endpoint proxy to forward, over the first network, to one of: a chosen node of the first type or a chosen node of the second type, incoming requests received over an external network.
