1. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:
one or more processors;
memory coupled with the one or more processors, wherein the one or more processors are configured to:
receive a control message including a resource symbol mask and a combined resource element (RE) mask, wherein the combined RE mask is representative of a combination of port RE masks that each correspond to a respective antenna port of a plurality of antenna ports, wherein the combined RE mask indicates one or more frequency resources to be allocated for a reference signal transmission across the plurality of antenna ports and the resource symbol mask indicates one or more time resources to be allocated for the reference signal transmission across the plurality of antenna ports; and
perform the reference signal transmission in accordance with the control message including the combined RE mask and the resource symbol mask.
