1. A method for determining a type of characteristic eye movement of a patient, comprising:
providing the patient with an optokinetic stimulus for stimulating the characteristic eye movement,
generating at least one medical image of the brain of the patient also including the eyes of the patient,
determining an amount of a displacement of an optic nerve of the patient based on the at least one medical image using artificial intelligence (AI) by segmenting the optic nerve in the medical image via a detection that is performed in accordance with a “You Only Look Once” (YOLO) algorithm, and
determining a type of characteristic movement based on the determined amount of displacement of the optic nerve.
