1. Eyewear, comprising:
a frame;
a display supported by the frame;
an electrical processor; and
a light source configured to be controlled by the electrical processor to generate a light beam that illuminates the display, wherein the light source has a plurality of individually controllable light segments configured to control an illumination level of the display where at least one of said light segments is off, wherein the electrical processor is configured to determine an illumination level of the light beam and individually control the light segments to control the illumination level of the light beam that illumination the display, wherein the light segments are adjacent to another said light segment in a common plane.
