1. A cutting guide apparatus for guiding placement of bore holes in a door, the apparatus comprising:
a first leg configured to be disposed along a first face of the door;
a second leg configured to be disposed along a second face of the door opposite the first face; and
a spacing element disposed between the first and second legs,
wherein at least one of the first leg or the second leg includes a handle hole guide structure and the spacing element comprises an edge bore guide structure,
wherein a first portion of the handle hole guide structure that is proximate to the first or second face of the door is undercut relative to, and extends continuously away from, a second portion of the handle hole guide structure that is opposite the first portion,
wherein the edge bore guide structure defines a first diameter to guide a hole saw for cutting an edge bore,
wherein the spacing element further comprises an arbor relief area having a second diameter larger than the first diameter extending into a face of the spacing element that surrounds the edge bore guide structure and is opposite the door when the apparatus is operably coupled to the door, and
wherein the arbor relief area extends into the face uniformly at the second diameter to a predetermined depth.
