1. A fluid production system for producing a fluid having at least one desired characteristic comprising: a mixing circuit having a first portion, second portion, and third portion, each of the first and second portion being in communication via respective valves with the third portion, the mixing circuit having a first and second receptacle, each including a piercing member and each being connected to one another via a flow channel; and a cartridge having an inlet port and an outlet port each sealed by a cover, the inlet and outlet port configured to displace respectively within the first receptacle and second receptacle from a first position within the respective first and second receptacles to a second position within the respective first and second receptacles, the piercing members in fluid communication via the flow channel in the first position, the piercing members isolated from the flow channel, and each cover punctured by a respective piercing member of the piercing members when the inlet and outlet port are in the second position.
