a handle;
a shaft longitudinally extending from the handle, the shaft sized and shaped to be inserted within tissue and to be advanced to the septa treatment site without assistance from tissue stabilizing structure applied to the patient's skin;
a septa engaging assembly at a distal portion of the shaft, the septa engaging assembly comprises a first link rotatably attached to a second link at a pivot, and a drive shaft attached to the first link, the first link, second link and drive shaft being configurable within the shaft, wherein manipulation of the drive shaft causes the first link and second link to project laterally from the shaft; and
an actuator on the handle to actuate the septa engaging assembly, wherein the actuator positions the septa engaging assembly in at least a retracted position, a septa tensioning position and a septa disruption position;
wherein the first link is configured to function as a blocker of a portion of the second link when the first link is substantially aligned with the second link and the second link includes a beveled protrusion that extends proximally from the pivot when the first link and second link project laterally from the shaft.
