1. A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
monitoring protocol data unit (PDU) activity for a PDU session that is associated with one or more data network names (DNNs);
determining that the PDU session has a period of inactivity;
maintaining a record for monitoring the PDU activity for the PDU session that is associated with the one or more DNNs; and
updating the record based on an accumulated number of inactivity cycles associated with the PDU session.
