1. A method, performed by a routing device including a plurality of communication interfaces towards a plurality of subnets, to determine a new subnet in which a destination network node resides in response to the destination network node moving from an original subnet of the plurality of subnets to the new subnet of the plurality of subnets, the destination network node maintaining an Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to the destination network node in the original subnet, the method comprising:
accepting a frame received from a source network node;
generating a successor Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) request for each one of the plurality of communication interfaces of the routing device by setting an IP address field descriptive of a sender in each of the successor ARP requests to correspond to an IP address of the respective communication interface of the routing device facing towards one of the plurality of subnets derivable as a destination of the frame and by setting a Media Access Control (MAC) address field descriptive of the sender in each of the successor ARP requests to correspond to a respective MAC address of each of the respective communication interfaces through which the successor ARP request is intended to be sent out to the subnet derivable as the destination; and
transmitting the generated successor ARP requests over each of the plurality of communication interfaces to respective subnets to determine the new subnet in which the destination network node resides after the destination network node moves from the original subnet to the new subnet, while maintaining the IP address assigned to the destination network node in the original subnet in the new subnet.
