1. A vehicle router, comprising:
a data storage device storing vehicle loss risk scores for each of a plurality of geographical locations, the vehicle loss risk score for each of the plurality of geographic locations being calculated based on variables associated with the geographic location, the variables including at least historical insurance loss data, current loss data, a plurality of vehicle loss risk factors, including at least an average claim severity and an average claim frequency, public data source data including at least emergency call data, a user generated risk factor based on inputs, independent of insurance claims data, from users reporting or identifying events or conditions using mobile devices;
a computer processor for executing program instructions and for retrieving the calculated vehicle loss risk scores from the data storage device;
one or more application programming interfaces configured to expose the calculated vehicle loss risk scores to an external mapping service to facilitate route selection based on mapping data from the external mapping service;
a memory, coupled to the computer processor, storing program instructions for execution by the computer processor, the program instructions causing the computer processor to:
receive, from a first mobile device executing instructions of an application program permitting a user to input insurance claim data, insurance claim data, for an auto accident, input by the user into the mobile device, the insurance claim data including a geographic location of the auto accident, and provide the insurance claim data for use in calculating a vehicle loss risk score for the geographic location of the auto accident;
receive, from a second mobile device executing instructions of the application program permitting a user other than the insured not involved in a traffic accident to input data relating to the traffic accident, the traffic accident data including a photograph and a geographic location of the traffic accident, and provide the traffic accident data for use in calculating a vehicle loss risk score for the geographic location of the auto accident, the application program further configured to, responsive to receipt of the traffic accident data, prompt other users of the application program in the area of the geographic area of the traffic accident to provide data relating to the traffic accident;
receive, via a communication device, trip route data indicative of a set of geographical locations;
access the data storage device and output vehicle loss risk score data corresponding to the received set of geographical locations of the trip route data; and
transmit routing options, determined based on the vehicle loss risk score data of the set of geographical locations of the trip route data, to a display device for display and selection.
