1. A system comprising:
a first work machine configured to perform a first task at a work area;
a second work machine configured to:
operate at least partially autonomously based on machine command data, and
perform a second task, at the work area, following completion of the first task by the first work machine at the work area; and
a worksite controller configured to:
receive, from the first work machine, and via a wireless communication interface, machine progress data indicating progress associated with the first task at the work area;
predict, based on the machine progress data, a completion time of the first task at the work area;
predict an arrival time at which the second work machine would arrive at the work area to perform the second task; and
send the machine command data to the second work machine via the wireless communication interface, the machine command data causing the second work machine to autonomously either:
enter a low-power state based on the arrival time being earlier than the completion time of the first task, or
enter an active state based on the arrival time being equal to or later than the completion time of the first task.
