1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-executable instructions that, when executed, cause a processor system to perform operations comprising:
receiving a request to generate one or more visualizations based on one or more datasets provided by an industrial device within an industrial system, wherein the processor system is communicatively coupled to the industrial device via a data backplane, wherein the industrial device comprises a control system directly coupled to the processor system via the data backplane, and wherein the processor system and the control system are configured to physically mount to a rail and communicatively couple to the data backplane when physically mounted to the rail, wherein the data backplane is separate from and shared by the processor system and the control system to facilitate communications between the processor system and the control system;
accessing a visualization platform system in response to receiving the request;
determining device data based on information associated with the processor system, wherein the device data comprises a type of display communicatively coupled to the processor system via the data backplane;
receiving design data for presenting the one or more datasets from a user, wherein the design data comprises:
a first indication of a selection of the one or more datasets; and
a second indication of an additional selection of one or more analysis types to apply to the one or more datasets;
sending the device data and the design data to the visualization platform system;
receiving a visualization project file for execution by the processor system from the visualization platform system, wherein the visualization project file is generated based on the device data and the design data;
executing the visualization project file to generate the one or more visualizations based on the visualization project file; and
presenting the one or more visualizations via an electronic display device corresponding to the type of display.
