1. An optical fiber cable, comprising:
an optical fiber;
a cable jacket defining an interior cavity; and
a foam layer disposed between the optical fiber and the cable jacket, wherein the foam layer comprises one of:
a first composition comprising from 30% by weight to 80% by weight of a polyolefin elastomer (POE) and from 20% by weight to 70% by weight of low-density polyethylene (LDPE); or
a second composition comprising from 30% by weight to 100% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and from 0% by weight to 70% by weight of LDPE;
wherein attenuation of all optical fibers in the optical fiber cable remains below 0.15 dB while the optical fiber cable is under a 110 N/cm compression load.
