1. A method of detecting pests, the method comprising:
emitting infrared light from at least one emitter driven by a pulse-width modulated signal;
generating an analog signal based on the infrared light by using at least one detector driven by the pulse-width modulated signal; and
wherein the analog signal indicates a pest is present.
