1. An aerodynamic bicycle rim comprising:
a radially outer portion comprising a circumferential tire bed and tire bead hooks, the radially outer portion defining a radially outermost edge having a radially outermost width; and
sidewalls extending from the radially outermost edge of the aerodynamic bicycle rim to a radially innermost edge of the aerodynamic bicycle rim to form a rim body, wherein:
a widest portion of the rim body is radially inward of the circumferential tire bed and radially outward of a centerline of the rim body,
a maximum width of the rim body at the widest portion of the rim body is greater than the radially outermost width,
the rim body continuously increases in width from the radially outermost edge, through the tire bead hooks, and to the widest portion of the rim body and continuously decreases in width from the widest portion of the rim body to the radially innermost edge;
the radially outer portion of the aerodynamic bicycle rim is adapted to seat a bicycle tire such that there is a tangent line tangent to the bicycle tire and tangent to one of the sidewalls of the aerodynamic bicycle rim at an outer third of the rim body and radially inward from the tire bead hooks and to form a cross-sectional shape having a cross-sectional shape centerline spaced radially outward from the widest portion of the rim body, and
a radial distance from the circumferential tire bed of the aerodynamic bicycle rim to the radially innermost edge of the aerodynamic bicycle rim is greater than the maximum width of the rim body.
