1. A system comprising:
a toothbrush;
one or more motion sensors configured to:
capture motion data associated with movement of the toothbrush; and
output the motion data associated with movement of the toothbrush; and
a controller configured to;
determine, based at least in part on the motion data associated with movement of the toothbrush, whether the movement of the toothbrush is indicative of tooth brushing;
if it is determined that the movement of the toothbrush is indicative of tooth brushing;
automatically determine, based on the determination that the movement of the toothbrush is indicative of tooth brushing, that a brushing session has been initiated; and
cause, based on the determination that a brushing session has been initiated, collection of motion data for the brushing session; and
if it is determined that the movement of the toothbrush is not indicative of tooth brushing;
not cause collection of motion data.
