1. A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
receiving configuration information identifying a stored value associated with a target block error rate associated with an uplink shared channel communication, wherein the target block error rate is based at least in part on at least one of: a finite block length, a code rate, or a signal to noise ratio;
determining a power adjustment parameter, for the uplink shared channel communication, based at least in part on a stepwise function and the stored value,
wherein the power adjustment parameter for the uplink shared channel communication is further based at least in part on whether a service type, associated with the uplink shared channel communication, is an ultra-reliable low latency communications service type, an enhanced Mobile Broadband service type, or a massive machine service type, and
wherein the stepwise function is based at least in part on an adjustment to a nominal power offset associated with the uplink shared channel communication;
determining a transmission power for the uplink shared channel communication based at least in part on the power adjustment parameter; and
transmitting the uplink shared channel communication using the transmission power.
