7. A user equipment (UE), comprising:
at least one processor; and
one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media coupled to the at least one processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one processor, wherein the programming instructions, when executed, cause the UE to perform operations comprising:
responsive to a query sent by an application running on the UE to another component of the UE, receiving, by the application from the another component of UE, receiving, by the application from the UE, information indicative of a radio coverage condition; and
controlling uplink data transmission based on the received information, wherein the controlling uplink data transmission comprises refraining from sending uplink data when the UE is in at least one of a set of predefined coverage enhancement levels.
